1. How did you do with these Themes? How did you feel about how you thought you did compared to the grade you received? What did you do well?
I did a great job with theme 1. I used the basic principles that I learned in cross country to show how they applied to a life experience. For theme 2, I created a resume and cover letter for Jordan Baker. I got A's on both of the themes and I think that I deserved them because I put a lot of work into editing my papers. I did well in using proper vocab, including relevant details, and having good awareness of the audience.
2. What are some opportunity areas for you with your writing?
The main area where I did not do as well as I would have liked was using appropriate structure. Although I used a resume format, I may not have been correct to the 1920's. My college essay theme lost a few points when answering the prompt. It was not a big issue but the conclusion should tie it up better.
3. What can you improve for next time?
Next time, I would probably get a few more people to read my theme because I think there were some things that could easily be improved. I could have done a little more research on how a 1920's theme is written.
